6 Pre-Race Tips for Your Half Marathon Prep

Tips to Prepare the Day Before Your Big Race

It’s almost time. T-minus 24 hours to be exact. You have spent the last 12 weeks (or longer) preparing for your big day. You have adjusted your morning schedule to train early, said “No” to spending time with friends because it’s your long training day, you have stretched and timed your way to this day. Now, the day has finally come. Tomorrow is race day. Your stomach is full of butterflies, and your mind racing with excitement and anticipation. The Eve of race day is almost as exciting as actual race day.

Then, doubt begins to creep in your head. In all of your preparation for the actual day of the race, have you prepared for the day before? The truth is this period of time is almost as important as race day to plan accordingly and give your body the proper rest and nutrition to perform your absolute best. You’ve worked so hard to get to this point, why undo all your hard work from the previous 12 weeks by not crossing the finish line in your preparation?

For us at CORA the fall season means race season with some of our largest events taking place, and a smaller race nearly every weekend. That’s why we’ve created our ActiveTracks Recovery Zone to help runners prep, rehab, and recover.

To ensure everyone performs their best, here are 6 things you can do 24 hours before your big race that we’re also sharing with our 3,500+ friends, patients, and peers preparing to run the 10th Annual Myrtle Beach Marathon in South Carolina next weekend.

Preparation is the Key to Your Recovery

If you have trouble sleeping, do not stress. A lot of people do not sleep well the night before a big race. Rest assured your adrenaline on race day will undoubtedly help you perform your best!

Find Your Recovery Zone

Once you cross the finish line this weekend at the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon (or your local race), be sure to stop by the CORA ActiveTracks tent for your post-race recovery.
