We’ve all heard of sports medicine, but did you know it’s not just for professional athletes? Who — besides the pros — can benefit from the science behind sports medicine?
- Any competitive or recreational athlete on the road to recovery from injury and wanting to return to their favorite sport
- Anyone who wants to stay healthy with activity and keep up with their fitness routine
To serve each individual, CORA Physical Therapy’s ActiveTracks program provides athletes, their families, and the community with access to a comprehensive medical team that identifies risk factors and works to prevent injuries through our educational and screening platforms.
A Complete Approach
CORA Physical Therapy’s ActiveTracks program offers a complete approach to injury prevention, sports injury rehabilitation, wellness, and education, which can be provided through community outreach. We work to prevent, evaluate, and treat acute and chronic injuries resulting from overuse or high-impact and high-repetition sports activities. Our clinicians provide effective treatment for:
- Musculoskeletal issues: from ACL and meniscal tears to rotator cuff injuries, sprains and strains of ankles, hips, and spine
- Tendinitis/tendinosis
- Concussions
- Heat exhaustion
- Post-operative care
- And more
A truly effective sports medicine program includes education and wellness components to help reduce the risk of injury and to encourage community members to lead healthy lifestyles. At CORA, we’ve incorporated informational seminars into all of our programs, including ActiveTracks, but also pride ourselves on the personal conversations that happen between our outreach team, participants, family members and spectators at various events. We take educating the public seriously. We educate the community with hopes of preventing injuries, but if they need us, they know who and when to call.
Our services are delivered by nationally certified, state-licensed (where applicable), and highly effective Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapists well versed in the latest treatment interventions.
Our outreach efforts take the form of partnerships with more than 40 local and regional schools, colleges, and universities.
When providing sports medicine services to youth sports teams, we partner with physicians to guarantee the athletes’ safety. Athletic Trainers are ready to perform taping, stretching, and acute injury management. At professional-level events, we collaborate with massage therapists, chiropractic doctors, medical services, and EMS.
Here at CORA, our support of the beach volleyball circuit has been rewarding for our team. We currently are the sports medicine provider for Swatch Major Series and provide a comprehensive clinical team for their Fort Lauderdale tour stop. Beach volleyball players throughout Florida are strong advocates for our brand, and the model we’ve used for this sport can be applied to any other sport or activity — in fact, we just partnered with a soccer club with 3,500 members.
Partners in the Community
Injuries that stop athletes from performing at their best don’t just happen at big games or major tournaments, though, but also at gyms, fitness studios, and community centers. Our entire team is skilled at adapting the latest treatment options for each person’s needs, regardless of whether they are professional athletes, leisure sports participants, or residents of the senior center next door.
To keep our partners and their participants healthy and able to work out, our offerings include:
- Injury and illness prevention
- Immediate and emergency care
- Clinical evaluation and diagnosis
- Treatment and rehabilitation
- Organizational and professional health and well-being
Because we work very closely with athletic directors and the owners of private organizations, we’re able to provide complimentary assessments, identify risky movement patterns, and provide treatment demonstrations to engage the population we serve. As a result, our partners’ members routinely return to play faster, spending less time out of the gym, on the sidelines, and away from competition, with no mismanagement of injuries or extra expense. One of the clear advantages of our ActiveTracks program is that it serves as a triage point facilitated by our Athletic Trainers. Clients have Direct Access to our Physical Therapists, who can refer them to health practitioners when necessary, saving both time and money.
CORA Physical Therapy provides exceptional care at more than 150 outpatient Physical Therapy programs in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. All of our clinics are in the heart of each community.
We love for everyone to be as physically active as possible. Our ActiveTracks program can help keep you in the game.
