What's Your CORA Story?
I injured my back at work and I was recommended to physical therapy at CORA for 3 months. When I arrived in January of 2017 I could barely bend over to the point they didn't even take measurements. I couldn't look at the ceiling by bending backwards at all. I finished my three months of physical therapy, and a short time later went back to the doctor who discovered that I had two ruptured discs one of which was pushing up against my spinal cord and was paralyzing me (L4 and L5 were damaged). I returned to CORA one more time after having surgery to insert a spinal cord stimulator, shave down my discs and fuse my SI joints, so that I could try to achieve my physical therapy goals. From that point, I have since finished my physical therapy a couple months ago and I can now touch my toes! I can almost put myself into an entire back bend and I can even rotate my shoulders to where I can look over my shoulder now. When I first started I couldn't do any of that, I couldn’t even tie my shoes without having severe pain which I can now do with ease.
I was most impressed with the staff. Trish and Denise both worked with me regularly but when they weren't there I had no problems working with Brian, Bridget, Rocky, Nee, Nikki, Emily or Raymond. The ladies upfront placing the appointments and checking us in and out made things very easy. Never was it complicated to understand what the next plan of action was for my care.
I would like to thank everybody at CORA Physical Therapy in Winter Haven for all of the care and consideration that they have invested to help me reach my goal. I am extremely grateful!
In November I got into a car accident and injured my back. I was in so much pain and I went to CORA for therapy. I was there for 6 months or so and the progress I made helped a lot. I was hardly able to stand up no less walk, but when I was done I was able to do all that and have more motion in my back. At that time I never realized that Denise was the manager until she answered the phone one day. I was shocked because she acted like a normal everyday therapist. I have seen her clean the bathroom, sweep the floors and everything else. She was kind and it just amazed me because I have been with family at other places and you could always tell who ran things there. Since my back injury, I have had spinal surgery and knee surgery as I have been so happy with the therapists and the ladies at the front desk always working with me and my schedule. It has been such a blessing to know and have a place to get better and a place that feels like family you want to be around. In my time at CORA, Denise, Bryan, and Trish have been on my entire journey of therapy and I so appreciate everything they do!
The quality of care and professionalism of the staff is what impressed me most. They always have your best interest in mind and make you find your limit, but without danger. The exercises are varied, and you are under constant observation. Six months after my PT for right knee replacement, I had a shoulder operation and I insisted I go back to CORA.
