In the fall of 2014, as the owner of Indigo Therapy Specialists, LLC, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, I was searching for creative ways to grow our practice without losing sight of our values or the trust of our longtime patients. I chose CORA over several other potential partner companies and three years later, I don’t regret the decision.
We have grown together, sharing ideas and new approaches to address the needs of our community and develop our staff. The results speak for themselves.
Growth and Development of the Practice
Indigo has grown – doubling in size since the acquisition – and we are now able to provide an extensive sports medicine outreach program to serve the needs of the community. And, just two months after partnering with CORA, we began to offer Astym therapy.
Our practice has expanded, my staff is achieving new certifications, and our service offerings have increased. On a professional level, I feel invigorated by the new energy and I’ve been able to focus on business development rather than being bogged down by the day-to-day challenges of running a privately-owned therapy practice.
Exciting Projects Are Now in Our Reach
Our partnership with the Grand Strand Running Club would not have been possible without our affiliation with CORA. Because of this relationship, we are able to provide coverage for the club’s races throughout the year and provide free injury screenings for all 300-plus of their members. We’re thrilled to be able to provide medical coverage at other local sports events, too, including football, soccer, and volleyball tournaments.
Our practice now offers pre-employment screenings for local companies to ensure their workers are physically prepared to take on the employment roles they’re hired for. We’ve come a long way since 2014.
The Ultimate Advantage Is Superior Patient Care
My passion continues to be the improvement of patient care. Since joining CORA, I’ve been able to develop my clinical skills to better serve my patients — like earning TPI certification to better serve golfers — and to grow as a leader within the CORA organization. I now have the pleasure of serving as the senior clinic manager of four locations, working closely with the company’s senior management team.
I felt CORA would provide the best environment for my employees to grow. CORA’s leadership team not only demonstrated a significant business growth in the Southeast, but also a relentless commitment to employee development, a value I share.
Quality care starts with quality training. Before our partnership with CORA, our training was provided on an individual basis. Now our clinicians can sign up for internal CEU courses or attend one of many certifications of their choice, many of which are now even hosted by CORA Physical Therapy.
This gives our staff access to more opportunities in special-interest areas including sports medicine and specialized services for injured workers.
