North Charleston, SC – November 2, 2021 – CORA Health Services, Inc., doing business as CORA Physical Therapy (“CORA”), a top-10 national operator of outpatient physical therapy services, announced today the opening of CORA University in North Charleston, South Carolina. The newest addition comes on the heels of CORA West Ashley (September 2021) and marks the third CORA location serving Charleston County, adding to the company’s growing footprint of 26 locations serving patients across the Palmetto State.
Located at 2695 Elms Plantation Blvd, Suite C, the clinic offers treatment for general orthopedic and sports injuries, post-COVID recovery programs, pre- and post-operative care, vertigo and balance disorders, chronic pain, geriatric rehabilitation, and workplace injuries and workers’ comp solutions.
Alexis Aton PT, DPT, OCS will manage the University clinic. She earned her doctorate in physical therapy from Texas Tech University and is board certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Alexis is also certified in dry needling, spinal and joint mobilizations and manipulation, vestibular rehab and selective functional movement screens.
“CORA provides a high standard of care to all its patients using evidence-based examinations and treatment strategies,” said Alexis. “Our staff is excited to bring more of that top level care to every patient to the North Charleston area and we know we will help them reach their recovery goals faster.”
CORA Physical Therapy accepts patients through direct access—no referral required—for people calling or walking into the clinic seeking physical therapy services, as well as through physician referrals. With rapid scheduling, PTs can see patients in as little as 24 to 48 hours—sometimes even the same day.
Anthony Lavigne, Regional Manager at CORA Physical Therapy, said, “We are proud to offer the residents of North Charleston another convenient location to help them achieve success in their therapy. The expanded footprint in the region gives us the ability to reach more patient populations in need of care, and further promote health and wellness in the Charleston community.”
As with all CORA clinics, University is taking extra precautions to adhere to the health and safety of both patients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, with scheduling and check-in protocols for all appointments. For patients who cannot come into the clinic, CORA also offers telehealth visits and therapy in the home to ensure continuity of treatment with 4,000+ insurance plans accepted and payment options for patients without insurance.
