Effective immediately patients will have on-demand access to American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services in-person, or by way of Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services.
Purple VRI is an ASL interpretation service that provides communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and hearing persons that are in the same location. With VRI, patients at CORA can communicate directly with ASL interpreters at the click of a button and with no minimum time requirements.

VRI interpreters are now available on-demand at all CORA clinic locations 24/7/365 at no extra cost to patients. Scheduling an interpreter in advance is not required. All Purple VRI interpreters are fluent in English and in ASL, which combines signing, finger spelling, and specific body language. Purple also employs Spanish-speaking ASL interpreters.
